NEPHE Technology
Lighter.
Stronger.
Further.
A hockey stick isn't magic. It's carbon, a geometry, and above all a way of distributing the material. Here is exactly what goes into a NEPHE, and why you feel it on the ice.
01
18K carbon
The "K" refers to the number of filaments woven into each carbon strand. 18K means 18,000 filaments per strand. A high density weave, stiffer and more resistant for the same amount of material.
It's the carbon you find at the top end of the market. It's the one we use across the whole NEPHE range, from JR to SR. No exceptions, no watered down version to bring the price down.
The result fits in one number: 350 grams.
02
It's not the amount.
It's the layout.
We use the same amount of carbon as the market references. The difference is where we put it.
The material is concentrated on the flex zone, the one that takes the full load the moment you load up your shot. Where the stick works, there is carbon. Where it doesn't, we don't pile material on for nothing.
Two direct consequences. The flex zone gets stronger, so the stick lasts longer. And dead weight disappears.
03 / The signature
The reinforced monobloc blade
A structure stitched into the core of the blade, absorbing vibrations all the way down into the lower shaft. The piece of engineering we're proudest of.
Repeated vibration cracks carbon from the inside. That's how a stick ends up snapping one evening for no obvious reason. The monobloc structure dissipates that energy instead of letting it build up.
The blade doesn't twist on the shot, or when the flex is fully loaded. The puck goes where you aimed it. Shot after shot, not just for the first ten.
You feel the puck on the blade. Clean reception, clean pass, one-touch control. It's the first thing players tell us after a test.
04
Asymmetric reinforcement
A left-handed and a right-handed player don't load a stick the same way. The stress doesn't travel through the same zones, and a "neutral" stick always ends up giving out on the side that takes the most load.
So the NEPHE weave is reinforced asymmetrically according to your hand. You pick left or right, and you get a stick built for that side.
05
Pick your flex
Flex is the force in kilos needed to bend the stick. The more it bends, the more energy it returns to the puck: that's the catapult effect. Too stiff and you never load it. Too soft and you lose control.
| Flex | Indicative weight | For what game |
|---|---|---|
| 55 (JR) | Under 55 kg | Juniors. Soft enough to load the stick without forcing it. |
| 70 | 60 to 75 kg | Technique and precision. Wrist shots, finesse play. |
| 77 | 75 to 90 kg | The all-rounder. What most adult players choose. |
| 87 | 90 kg and up | Power. Slap shots, physical play, one-timers. |
Two things worth knowing
Weight is a starting point, not a rule. A light player who lives for slap shots can absolutely go for the 77. And if you cut your stick, count roughly +5 flex for every 2 cm you take off.
06
Pick your curve
| Curve | Profile | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| P92 | Mid-open | The versatile one. Accurate shot, strong puck control, comfortable anywhere on the ice. If you're unsure, take this one. |
| P28 | Full-open | The offensive one. Lifts the puck fast, made for wristers and finesse finishes around the net. |

So why this price?
It's the question we get most. The answer is simple: carbon was never the expensive part.
What costs money is global ad campaigns, sponsorship contracts, distribution teams, retailer margins and showrooms in every country.
NEPHE made a different call. We work directly with our manufacturing partner, an engineer with more than twenty years of experience in hockey carbon. No middlemen, no distribution network, no multinational ad budget. We design in La Chaux-de-Fonds and we sell direct, from us to you.
No compromise on the material. No hidden margin. Just the stick.
"The amount of carbon is the same as the market references: what has been optimised is its distribution, concentrated on the flex zone."
